Artist ID

A system for creative people to be recognized and supported.

The Vision

In most countries, there's no formal way to identify yourself as an artist. No credential, no registry, no system that says: this person is a working creative professional. This absence has real consequences. Artists are invisible in economic data, overlooked in policy decisions, and excluded from benefits and protections that other professions take for granted.

The Artist ID program aims to change that. We're designing a system that recognizes creative people as creative people -- not as freelancers, gig workers, or hobbyists, but as artists making real contributions to culture and economy.

An Artist ID would serve as a gateway to benefits, resources, and opportunities specifically designed for creative professionals. Think of it as infrastructure: once you can identify and verify artists, you can build systems that serve them.

What it could mean

Recognition

A verifiable credential that establishes you as a working creative professional, recognized by institutions and governments.

Access

A gateway to benefits, grants, healthcare programs, and financial products tailored to the realities of creative careers.

Data

Better data about the creative economy means better policy, better advocacy, and a stronger case for the structures artists need.

Community

Connection to a network of fellow artists working together to build economic power for the creative community.
